Artistic Directors: Ron Boucher & Sandra Balestracci
Ron Boucher formed the Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts in September of 1996. Mr. Boucher serves as EVSPA's overall administrative director, oversees the schools theater/voice divisions, and teaches voice. Sandra Balestracci is co-director of the Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts in 1996. EVSPA was an outgrowth of her ballet studio, which she had founded in 1983. Her teaching career began at the age of 16 with the inheritance of a dance studio in her home town of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Only two years later, her teaching was interrupted with her invitation to appear as a soloist at the prestigious Radio City Musical Hall. Community Alliance for the Performing Arts (CAPA) Fund is a nonprofit charitable performing arts organization with a mission to:
* Create showcase opportunities for talented children and youth which mentors artistic development
* Promote and preserve the arts by encouraging and cultivating community interest
* Encourage and increase participation in the performing arts
* Support for the arts as a vital part of education and the intrinsic value to this community
